Prabal Gurung

I stopped by Target a few days ago for...I think, toothpaste? I can't even remember because I, instead, ended up meandering around the Prabal Gurung rack, which didn't have anything worth buying. I'm already sick of those tired prints, and I don't own any PG stuff.  And, how many collar shirts--buttoned up to the top-- do you really need?

It's only natural. Clothes always lead to shoes.  I wasn't impressed. The two most decent ones out of his whole collection are the lace-up pumps and flat sandals, but I'm thinking of returning them.

The lace-up pumps are fun, stylish, and relatively inexpensive--although, I think $40 is pushing it.

I have a few flat, gladiator-type sandals, but these get brownie points for the reflective metal detailing.  They're also useful because they look great with wide or flare-y pants.

Anyway, I wasn't too impressed with PG, but I've completely changed my mind after seeing his 2013 Resort Collection.

Been seeing peplum everywhere, and on everything. I'm almost tired of that shit. Almost.

Work that "marijuana" print! Then puff...puff...pass. I just don't like that hideous black blouse (bottom middle). How is that attractive on anyone?

The same black blouse, but in red you might be able to pull off.  My fave is the shiny blue pant ensemble (top right).  I'm questioning that cape-like tunic thing (bottom middle).  It miiiiiight work.

 Sigh...

These are the ones.  The geo prints or colorblocking mixed with the delicate floral background is fab.

These, too, are my absolute faves.   The knee length jacket outfit (bottom left) is MINE.  I will find a way to make it mine!

I'm in love....  The prints, silhouettes, and styles are so new and fresh! Some more than others, but overall...LOVE.  I would buy everything--going to start saving that allowance--and wear everything.  It's so different from his Target collection.  My only criticism is the tacky, uninspiring evening wear (last picture).  The red and white flowy numbers are okay, but the rest are monstrous.  Maybe because that red, short satin thing (top middle) distracts you, and its tackiness just leaches on to the rest of the garments.  Barf.
