I luv Valentimes' day

I always wondered what was correct: Valentines, Valentine’s, or Valentines’?  Well, it’s none of them!  This is crucial to know.  Not just because it’s Valentine’s Day, but also, nothing is more embarrassing than giving that hottie a card signed, “happy Valentines day.”  You’re not in high school anymore when wRiTinG n sPeLLinG lyKe diS wUz cOO.

Instead of that sexy post-date “dessert," you’ll probably end up joining your mom in front of the TV with a pint of mint chocolate chip (according to the Washington Post).  I really didn’t want to spend another Valentimes Valentines Valentine’s Valentine’s Day with my mom and Paris by Night.  Plus, no one likes to see bad grammar.  Well, people that know better.  As a result, I had to do my research. I want to be, or at least try to be, those people that know better!  That being said, you're very welcome to go back to all my previous posts and point out all my misspellings, incorrect grammar, punctuation errors, run-on sentences, fragments, improper word usage, etc.

First, Valentine’s Day is capitalized.  It’s a holiday.  All holidays (the specific names of the holidays, not the actual word—unless it’s “Happy Holidays” used as a heading on a greeting card) are capitalized.  So, like "Happy Holidays," the entire phrase, "Happy Valentine's Day", needs to be capitalized unless you're using it in a sentence to describe the holiday ("Today will be a happy Valentine's Day.") and not as a greeting or heading.

Second, Valentine’s Day is from the Catholic saint Valentine.  If you've heard “Valentime” or “Valentimes”, they are wrong! So wrong!  Where did the “m” sound come from?  I guess “m” and “n” sound the same…to idiots!

Third, when referencing this holiday, it has to be “Valentine’s Day.”  The word “day” has to be included, or it won’t fly.  This day is dedicated to him, which means it BELONGS to him.  Therefore, an apostrophe is a must!

I'll end this with some pretty lingerie that you will now get to see/receive tonightbecause of your grammar prowess!
