I am in love with the '70s! It's the long, beachy waves. The quarter sized rings and sleek, Roman-esque cuffs.  The flare-y wide legged pants.  The sheer, gauze-y, flowy chiffon blouses with muted floral or geometric prints. Maybe it's EVERYTHING. Well, except maxi dresses.

Regardless, I bet we can all agree nobody does the hippie era better than Nicole Richie. Well, Kate Hudson too (sometimes).

She even makes tacky lace sleeves look good!

Not a fan of the blonde and brown highlights or flat hair. Or make-up. Or whatever hideous get up she's wearing below. (Shudders)

Duvet #1 (cont.)

I was supposed to finish this last Sunday, but I had such a difficult time deciding where to put the ruffles.

Option 1

The middle ruffle looks okay, but the corner ones were too much. Took them off, but I still wasn't satisfied.

Option 2

Pintucking! This looks a bit better. But I still had extra ruffles to get rid of.

Option 3 (Don't know why the picture is upside down)

Maybe I should only have the pintucking on one side. It looks like overkill, or just awkward because the ruffles are too short?

I've also started working on the other side of the duvet, which is the same color as the ruffles. But I'm debating whether to do the same ruffles or the pleated kind. And, what size? Probably not as thick as these.

Decisions. Decisions.

On a happier note, I was able to add all the fashion classes I wanted at West Valley. YAYYY!

They don't make them like they used to....

Who remembers the Fashion Plates toy? If you were a late '80s or early '90s kid, you were all over this shit!

I don't remember the color pencils.

Heck yeah! This looks more familiar. This might be the exact one I used to have.

Ohhh yeah. You used the charcoal (that little nub over there) to rub the stamps over the paper. Then you used the color pencils to "design" the fabric for your clothes.
